Training

Dr. Peter Kim is a medical graduate of the University of Sydney, Australia, having earned his MBBS in 1998. Subsequently, he completed his Basic Surgical Training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2012. However, due to health issues, he was unable to pursue Advanced Surgical Training at that time.

In 2015, Dr. Kim obtained Fellowship in General Practice and is currently AHPRA registered as a specialist general practitioner (MED0001182872). Following an improvement in his health in 2016, Dr. Kim undertook further training in cosmetic surgery, successfully completing a 2-year specialized cosmetic surgical training program.

Notably, Dr. Kim received the Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery in 2009 and the Fellow of the International College of Cosmetic Surgery in 2008. His graduation from the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery & Medicine Fellowship program was distinguished by a gold medal and multiple scholarships awarded for publishing exceptional research papers.

Dr. Kim possesses substantial experience and expertise in the fields of cosmetic surgery, cosmetic medicine, laser procedures, dermatologic surgery and skin cancer medicine.

Skin Cancer

As an RACGP Fellow, Dr. Peter Kim specializes in skin cancer surgery, demonstrated by published articles and textbook chapters on surgical and non-surgical treatments. He actively contributes to developing skin cancer surgery curriculum for general practitioners.

Driven by dedication, Dr. Kim founded the Eastwood Skin Cancer Clinic for early detection and treatment. Leveraging his cosmetic surgery expertise, he consistently achieves aesthetically pleasing results. Dr. Kim also employs advanced cosmetic technologies, including lasers and photodynamic therapy, for non-surgical treatments, showcasing his versatile approach.

Blepharoplasty, Cosmetic Injections and Laser Therapy

As a Fellow of the Australasian College of Cosmetic Surgery & Medicine, Dr. Kim has developed a special interest in cosmetic eyelid surgery in both Caucasians and Asians. He has also published various topics in cosmetic injections, the treatment of complications following filler injection, laser treatments and anti-wrinkle injections.

Lawyer

In 2017, Dr. Peter Kim decided to pursue a degree in law. He completed his legal training and was admitted as a lawyer in 2022.

Dr. Kim’s area of interest lies at the intersection of health and law. He has authored numerous papers on the topic of chronic traumatic encephalopathy and other aspects of health law. One of his notable contributions in the field of chronic traumatic encephalopathy was facilitating its diagnosis during the affected individual’s lifetime. Dr. Kim has also provided commentary on Section 50 of the Civil Liability Act, emphasizing the importance of doctors proactively treating patients in their best interests instead of practicing defensive medicine.
